Seminars: each student will do two seminars,

  1. a first in which they present material connected to the class readings and topics for a given day and lead the class discussion (10%), and
  2. a second, more in-depth seminar. A draft discussion paper will be circulated one week beforehand for discussion. (15%)

Papers: an essay of approx. twelve pages based upon the workshopped papers presented in the second seminar. (35%)

Weblogs: each student will write an average of at least one substantial blog post a week, as well as read and comment on others’ blog posts. (25%)

Participation, including daily class discussion, engagement with other students’ workshopped papers, and engagement with other students’ weblogs. (15%)
